You're The Poisonwood Bible!
by Barbara Kingsolver
Deeply rooted in a religious background, you have since become both
isolated and schizophrenic. You were naively sure that your actions would help people,
but of course they were resistant to your message and ultimately disaster ensued. Since
you can see so many sides of the same issue, you are both wise beyond your years and
tied to worthless perspectives. If you were a type of waffle, it would be
Belgian.

hmmm... this is one of my top ten books but the write up about it isn't entirely accurate. i have read few other books that describe the tck (third culture kid) experience better. that means growing up away from your "home" country. these kids remain outsiders as they never quite fit in to the culture they are living in because they come from elsewhere. in addition, because they have travelled, they are different than those from their "own" culture and so never fit in at "home" either. they are displaced persons. at times i have felt like this since i grew up in thailand but remained "canadian". i often find that i can relate best to other persons who are unsure of where they belong.

hey 'Chel
YAY! you're posting again :) And i'm sorry i haven't read your blog in the last couple of days - i've been trying to kill myself in Fernie ;)
Totally get the tck bit. ugg. and i really did like that book. Especially the dislexic (was that what she was?) daughter.
And i'm really excited that you found some more of these quizes! i love them :) :) :)
my favourite daughter is the one who ends up marrying an african and living in a slum. though the daughter who ended up running a hotel did make me laugh. possibly she resembles some expats a bit TOO much. oops, did i ruin the ending for those who haven't yet read the book? another spoiler: someone dies! ooohhh. actually you find this in the beginning so it's ok. in fact the whole book is about the death in a way.
Hi,
I am a TCK myself and am trying to find other TCKs! I just opened a shop at:
www.cafepress.com/tck
If you could spread the word that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Shoshauna
